Merry and Bright…

FullSizeRender (3)

If you have been following me this week you may have noticed how easy it is to pull out different cards that coordinate and make simple cards, treats and more. The card I am featuring is one of my favorite fun folds, not only because it easy but because it can be used in several different ways. I will be making it as a gift card holder but you could also stamp on each section or even used as a photo card,Β  invitation or announcement.

To get started you will need:

  • Santa’s Workshop Memories & More card pack
  • poppy parade card– cut 1 card base in half at 4 1/4″ X 6 1/4″, save the other 1/2 to make another one πŸ™‚
  • poppy parade card stock– cut 1 at 4 1/4″ X 9 3/4″ and score at 3 1/4″ & 6 1/2″
  • adhere one 4″ X 6″ card to the poppy parade card base
  • adhere one 4″ X 3″ card to the front fold, i added an arrow sticker to this card
  • trim one 4″ X 3″ card to 3″ X 3″, adhere to the middle section with tear & tape on 3 sides to form a pocket.
  • adhere one 4″ X 3″ card to the last fold, I added a tree sticker to the lower right corner.
  • Adhere the tri fold to the card base centering it and finish by adding a few red rhinestones for bling.

Not just a card…

….but a gift, it seems like gift cards are very popular around the holidays and when I give them I like to dress them up a little.

To create this gift card holder I added the Santa’s workshop Memories & More cards & Envelopes to my supplies. The Cards & Envelopes come with 20 cards bases, 10 each of 2 sizes (3″ X 4″ & 4″ X 6″) with matching envelopes……I plan on stocking up on these to use for valentines cards πŸ™‚

Lets get started with our gift card holder by pulling out a few cards and stickers from the card pack and some poppy parade ribbon & garden green bakers twine.

  • seal a small envelope and cut off the top, it should be 3 1/2″ X 4 1/4″
  • glittered stripe card- cut 1 at 2″ X 3″
  • heart candy cane card- cut 1 at 3″ X 3″
  • polka dot card- cut 1 at 1″ X 3″
  • adhere the candy cane card to the glittered stripe card (4″ X 3″)
  • adhere the 1″Β  polka dot and tie a piece of garden green bakers twine around with a bow
  • attach to the envelope with dimensionals making sure the opening is on top and attach the Happy Christmas sticker on the front with dimensionals

Gift card tag:

  • garden green card stock (or one of the cards in the pack)- cut 1 at 3″ X 4 1/2″

Simple treats….

IMG_1159Looking for easy holiday treats for your children’s classmates, your coworkers, neighbors, friends or to hand out at holiday gatherings? Today I have two treats that I have made over and over to hand out. To create them I used the Santa’s Workshop Memories & More card pack plus a few extra supplies. (listed at the bottom of this post)

Treat #1 Santa’s Elf

Die cut two 2 1/2″ scallop squares, score at 1″ and adhere to each other. (you could also cut two 2 1/2″ squares)

Punch out 1 garden green starburst, punch out the elf from one of the 3″ X 4″ cards with a 1 3/4″ circle punch.

Wrap a piece of the poppy parade ribbon around and tie a knot to form an opening to slide in a snack size candy bar. Adhere the garden green starburst to the front and then attach the elf with a couple of dimensionals. Finish off with a rhinestone for the tip of his hat.

Β Treat #2 Santa’s Nuggets

You will need 5 Hersey nuggets, cut five 1″ X 3″ pieces from 2 coordinating cards and cover the nuggets. Slide into a 2″ X 8′ cello bag and set aside. To create the topper I cut a 2″ X 3″ piece from one of the cards and scored it at 1 1/2″, cover the top opening of the bag and staple closed. Wrap a piece of garden green bakers twine around twice and tie a bow, add the Santa and “YUM” with dimensionals.

*I like to use tear and tape to secure the paper around the nuggets πŸ™‚

I hope you are ready to create your treats! Below I have added the products used to create these treats, many of the items will be used on other projects I will be sharing this week.

Stampin’ Blends…

Stampin’ Blends markers can be used to color in images, create backgrounds and so much more, today I decided to create my own colored paper to punch out for the light bulbs. This would be a fun technique to use with other punches and die cuts.

i am using the Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green and Real Red Stampin’ Blends, I colored an area on a scrap of whisper white paper in each color trying both the light and dark shades of each color. Once I found the shade I liked I punched out several of each.

The galvanized metallic paper was perfect to add as the socket, I punched them out and used a glue dot to attach them. To create the string for the lights I used the garden green bakers twine, I attached it to the front and inside the card with glue dots.Once the images were stamped in memento black ink I was ready to add the light bulbs.

To finish off the card I added a few rhinestones and an accent swoosh on the light bulbs with Wink of Stella.

To create this card you will need….

  • Night of Navy card stock- cut 1 at 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″
  • Granny Apple Green Card stock- cut 1 at 3″ X 6″, score at 5 1/2″, attach to the Night of navy to create a flap
  • Whisper White card stock- cut 1 at 5 1/4″ X 2 3/4″ front, cut 1 at 4 3/4″ X 2 1/2″ inside, scrap to color and punch out light bulbs
  • Galvanized Metallic paper – cut 1 piece at 1/2″ X 12″, punch out sockets for ]light bulbs
  • Santa’s Workshop Designer series paper cut 1 red polka dot at 4″ X 5 1/4″, adhere to the night of navy covering the where you attached the Granny Apple Green

Merry Christmas tag…

Would you like a stamp set that you can make tags for the upcoming Holidays? I have picked one that I think you will have a lot of fun creating with “Many Blessings”….I know I have. My first project was created with the candy cane image and Merry Christmas sentiment. The best part about creating tags is that they can be used for so many things. This tag would be great to add to a gift bag, it could also be added to the front of a card or used like I have added to a box of treats.

To create the tag I stamped the image in Memento ink on whisper white card stock then die cut it with a square stitched shape and colored it in with Stampin’ Blends. Stamp the sentiment with Memento inkΒ  and then cut out, I softened the edges with a sponge and crumb cake ink. Tie a piece of the real red ribbon around the square, add a linen thread bow and tuck the sentiment under to look like a hanging tag.

I used the Dashing Along Designer Series paper which was a Hostess Special last month so if you weren’t lucky enough to get your own pack you can pick from any of the other wonderful Stampin’ Up! Designer Series paper…..back to the tag base πŸ™‚ the base measures 3″ X 4″ (you can get 12 from 1 sheet of 12 X 12 paper), I trimmed off the top to corners and use the Detailed Trio Punch the hole in the tag. I attached the whisper white to the stripe tag with dimensionals.

To add it to the Acetate treat box I created a belly band with garden green card stock (cut 2 at 1 1/2″ X 8 1/2″) attach the to strips together and then wrap around the box, adhere together and trim off any extra card stock. I used two different ribbons, real red cotton and whisper white tulle to tie on the tag and tie a bow. to finish it off I punched a couple of silver sprigs and slipped under the bow πŸ™‚

*the candy canes were purchased from the Dollar store “Bobs sweet Stripes”…don’t they fit perfect in or boxes!

The Buffalo Check background stamp is a favorite pick of mine from the Holiday Catalog and this weeks “Product of the Week”.Β I will be sharing different projects that I have used this stamp and you will see that this is a must have that can be used throughout the year!
