The Perfect Pear….

Sometimes your plans just don’t work out….like sharing samples last week of the Tutti-Frutti Suite. I live in California and we are very lucky to have been having some amazing weather so we headed to the beach for a few days to relax and enjoy the sun with friends and family.

Today I cleared off my desk and started to get back to what I started, creating with the Fruit Basket stamp set and Tutti-Frutti Designer Series paper….the perfect pear!

Watermarked(2018-02-19-1014) (1)

  • Start with a card base of lemon lime twist CS (5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″)
  • Next emboss a piece of whisper white CS (3 3/4″ X 5″) with the Simple Stripes embossing folder and adhere to a piece of crumb cake CS (3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″), adhere to the lemon lime card base.
  • Make a banner with a 2″ strip of Tutti-Frutti DSP and flag the bottom with the triple banner punch
  • Wrap a 6″ piece of lemon lime twist ribbon around the top of the banner and tie in a knot, adhere to the front of the card.
  • Punch out 1 starburst in tutti-frutti DSP, die cut 1 stitched circle in whisper white and sponge the edges in crumb cake ink. With crushed curry ink and a sponge dauber color the back side of a metallic foil doilie and cut in half.
  • Stamp the basket in crumb cake ink on crumb cake CS and cut out. Stamp a couple pears in both crushed curry and lemon lime twist ink, punch out with the pear punch. Stamp “hello” in crumb cake ink on a scrap of whisper white CS, cut out and punch a 1/6″ hole. Wrap a piece of linen thread around basket and tie a bow with the tag.
  • Attach the basket to the stitched circle with dimensionals, add the pears with mini dimensionals.
  • Layer together by adhering 1 half of the doilie to each side of the starburst, attach the whisper white stitched circle next with dimensionals, and adhere to the banner below the knot and add acouple tutti-frutti sequins.

I love making cards that are general, they are perfect when you just want to say hello and brighten someones day or add a sentiment inside!

More with Lots of Lavender!

I had so much fun creating cards with the Lots of Lavender Sale-A-Bration stamp set. I created these three cards using the narrow note cards and envelopes from the 2018 Occasions catalog. The note cards were the perfect size for both the bouquet or spray of flowers and with the two-step stamping adding color to the outline images is easy. if you would like a bolder image color them in with the New Stampin’ Blends.

This stamp set can be yours for Free with a $50 purchase 🙂 during Sale-A-Bration!

Here is a list of supplies I used to create these three note cards, click on any product and it will direct you to my online store!

Oh Happy Day!

It’s #mailacardmonday….  for today’s card I  pull out a favorite stamp set of mine from our Annual Catalog, Happiest of Days. I love the whimsical style of the design, the different sayings and that I can use my New Stampin’ Blends to color the images.

Happiest of Days #143796

  • Sweet Sugarplum – 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • Basic black – 2 at 4″ X 5 1/4″ (1 for inside)
  • Whisper White – 2 at 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″ (1 for inside)

  • With Memento ink stamp a border of flowers along the bottom of the whisper white, stamp the “oh happy day” about an inch above starting with the one in the center.
  • Add a strip of washi tape above the flowers, using the basic black marker I spattered flecks above the words.
  • Color in the leaves using the lighter Old Olive Stampin’ Blend first then shade with the darker Old Olive Stampin’ Blend marker. Repeat for the flowers but use the light & dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends markers.
  • Adhere the whisper white CS to the basic black CS, wrap the bakers twine around twice and tie a bow.
  • Attach to the sweet sugarplum CS card base with dimensionals.

#mailacardmonday…..you may be thinking what is this? I love creating cards and teaching others how to create them too 🙂 but I was slacking in mailing cards. So when my friend Monika Davis started #mailacardmonday on January 1, 2018 I decided to join her.  It has motivated me to not only create and share my cards but to also send them.

On Mondays I will be sharing one of the cards I will be mailing someone for #mailacardmonday. I would love for you to join in and send out your own cards on Mondays, I know it will brighten someones day!

Hello Friend

Today’s card was created with the  “Hello Friend” stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, for the colors I used  a combination of  Night of Navy and Lemon Lime Twist. This simple design is quick & easy to create and can be made with so many different combinations of colors.  (see below for a complete list of products)

Get started– cutting & scoring

  • Night of Navy CS – cut 1 at 5 1/2 X 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, + scrap
  • Whisper White CS- cut 2 at 4″ X 5 1/4″, + scrap
  • Lemon Lime Twist CS- scrap
  • Tutti Frutti DSP – navy print cut 1 at 1 1/4′ X 5 1/4″, cut 1 at 3/8″ X 4″, lemon lime twist print scrap

(DSP – Designer Series Paper      CS– Card Stock)

  • Ink the “Hello” stamp with Night of Navy, stamp 5 times without re-inking along the right side of a 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White CS, adhere the 1 1/4″ strip of Night of Navy DSP to the left side.
  • Ink “Friend” and “Thinking Of My Friend Today” with Night of Navy and stamp on a scrap of Whisper White CS
  • With the classic label punch, punch out “Friend” and punch out 1 each in Night of Navy & Lemon Lime twist DSP, stack all 3 together and flag the right side as pictured. Punch a 1/16″  hole through all 3 on the left side using the 1/16″ hand held punch.
  • Wrap a 15″ piece of Lemon Lime Twist ribbon around the left side of the card, tie in a knot, attach the 3 tags with 8″ of linen thread, adhere to the front of the card.
  • Punch out a 1 3/8″ scallop circle in Lemon Lime Twist CS, punch out the “Thinking Of My Friend Today” with the 1 1/4″ circle punch, layer using a dimensional.
  • Adhere the 4″ X  3/8″ piece of Night of Navy DSP about 1″ up from the bottom of the second piece of Whisper White CS, adhere the scallop circle to the right side, adhere Whisper White CS to the inside of the card.

I Just Love You….

Today is day 5 of my Valentine share and I have made a card that will be perfect to give to that special someone. Melon mambo, basic black and whisper white are the colors I choose with a little added sequins bling.

IMG_6213 I combined images from the Petal Palette and Picture Perfect Birthday stamp sets featured the Occasions catalog. By using the New Stamparatus from Stampin’ Up! I was able to easily line up the images, this fun NEW tool will be available in our 2018-2019 Annual Catalog on June 2.

Directions:  To create the card I used the NEW Narrow Cards & Envelopes from the Occasions Catalog and the Stamparatus. (complete list of supplies below)

  • When using the Stamparatus you will follow these three steps for most projects to set up placement for the stamp. I placed the note card in the left hand corner for this card but you can use the entire area.  The stamp I am using first  is a red rubber stamp so I am working on the grid base.
  • Repeat the above steps but move down 1 hinge for each image.
  • The second image is a photopolymer so we will be using  a thin foam pad for cushion (included with the Stamparatus)
  • Ink the “LOVE” on the I Just Love You stamp with a basic black Stampin’ Write marker and stamp on a scrap on melon mambo CS, die cut with a heart shape and attach with a dimensional.
  • Adhere the  melon mambo washi tape along the left side, wrap around a 15″ piece of basic black bakers twine,  when tying the bow insert  a 4″ piece of black sequin trim.
  • I added a strip of washi tape to the envelope and stamped “I Just Love You” along the long side.

I’m sure now that you see how easy it is to have perfect placement with the Stamparatus you can’t wait to get yours. I will be sharing more projects using different techniques over the next couple months 🙂
