Product of the Week!

The Buffalo Check background stamp is a favorite pick of mine from the Holiday Catalog and this weeks “Product of the Week”. I will be sharing different projects that I have used this stamp and you will see that this is a must have that can be used throughout the year!

Watermarked(2018-09-25-0605)

Today’s card I used the Buffalo Check as the background for my card base stamping the image in garden green ink on garden green card stock for a tone on tone look. I finished up the card with poppy parade and whisper white card stock, adding strips of the Santa’s workshop Designer series paper, a poppy parade stitched circle and garden green bakers twine. The Santa image was stamped in memento ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends, I added the dazzling details to his cap with the fine tip glue  and popped it up with dimensionals.

Two looks one design!

Do you have a favorite layout? I have several and it always amazes me that by changing up the colors, accessories or images how different each card looks. Today’s card I created with the same layout, same stamp set but changed up the colors and theme with different sentiments. This card features Pop of petals bundle and Another Wonderful Year for the sentiment “Thank You”

IMG_9740

To get started….

  •  Cut a standard card base in Soft Sea Foam (5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″) stamp the 3 little flower image in Soft Sea Foam ink from the upper left corner to the lower right. Cut 1 piece at 3″ X 3/4″ and stamp your sentiment in Old Olive ink.
  • With Whisper White card stock you will need 1 piece cut at 4 1/4″ X 3 1/4″, with a pencil trace a circle (I used a framelit) and stamp the branch in Old Olive moving around the circle stamping twice and then re-inking the image so you get the different shades.  You will need 1 piece cut at 4 1/4″ X 1″, punch along the long side with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch.
  • Stamp 3 flowers on Petal Pink card stock with Petal Pink ink and punch out, I curled the petals with my bone folder.

Putting it together….

  • Wrap a 15″ piece of linen thread around the whisper white and tie a bow on the right .
  • Attach the sentiment with dimensionals above the bow.
  • Add the 3 flowers with glue dots, add rhinestones to the centers.
  • Adhere the whisper white decorative border about 3 1/4″-3 1/2″ down from the top, add dimensionals and attach your wreath 🙂

On my second card I used all the same measurements but different colors to create a Holiday Card.

IMG_9741

  • Card base- Call Me Clover ink and card stock
  • Flowers/Ribbon – Lovely Lipstick 2018-2020 In-color designer series paper, Lovely Lipstick grosgrain ribbon, polka dot tulle ribbon.
  • Accessories red rhinestones, faceted gems, Versamark ink, white embossing powder.
  • Sentiment Mistletoe Seasons

TIP – I punched out 3 flowers for each, a total of nine. I spritzed them with water and crumpled them, once dry I layered them attaching with glue dots.

Just A Note…

Watermarked(2018-06-27-1521)

Sometimes just a little note card is perfect to  give to a friend to say thank you or how much you appreciate them. When you make one you might as well make a stack, it won’t take long with the Varied Vases Bundle, the Narrow Note Cards and STAMPARATUS!

To create the back ground I lined up the scallop stamp image on the STAMPARATUS and stamped in Memento Black Ink several times moving down one hinge at a time, the repeated to fill in the space. Next I lined up the solid scallop image repeating as I did with the first image and using Granny Apple Green and Pool Party classic ink.

I die cut a Stitched Shape Framelits oval in Whisper White card stock and a scallop oval from the Layering Oval Framelits in Basic Black card stock. I stamped the outline flower image and leaves in Memento Black Ink. The flower and leaves are stamped in Granny Apple Green and Pool Party classic ink, the vase in Memento Black Ink. To finish off I popped up the vase with a dimensional, adhered the oval to the scallop, wrapped a Lemon Lime Twist Ombre ribbon around the card and tied a bow and attached the oval to the front with dimensionals.

You can also create back grounds with designer series paper, background stamps and texture embossing folders, with the Narrow Note Cards you have 20 in a pack so you can make a variety!

Whole Lot of Lovely

I love the Stampin’ UP! designer series paper and as each catalog comes to an end there are so many I will miss. The Whole Lot of Lovely designer series paper is one of them, I love the colors, the different prints and how it works with so many stamp sets. To create my card I used one of my favorite stamp sets from the Occasions catalog, Petal Palette and Artisan Texture from the NEW the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! catalog (Available June 1,2018)

FullSizeRender (2)

To get started you will need to cut the following….

To complete the card you will need to…..

  • with the crumb cake ink and a stamping sponge rub the edges of the card, the wood texture strip and the 2 banners. Stamp the texture back ground on the card front with crumb cake ink.
  • adhere the 2 flags to the front and the wood texture strip as pictured, add a couple dimensionals to the back of the oval, cut a 30″ piece of linen thread, fold in half and wrap around the card attaching the oval. When tying the bow slip a 4″ piece of lace trim folded in half and secure in bow.

Bird Banter Birthday

A little birdie told me…..the Bird Banter stamp set is one you may have passed by in the Occasions Catalog (check page 42) I would  have too but at the last On Stage event for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Brian King demonstrated a card that sold me. Now 4 months into the Occasions Catalog  I decided to see what I could come up with. This fun card is perfect if you happen to be a little late on sending birthday cards….or if you are on the ball just leave out “obviously, it wasn’t an early bird”. I am sure with all the great bird images you will be creating all sorts of fun cards.

Cutting Instructions:

  • calypso coral- cut 1 at 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″, score at 2 1/8″ & 4 1/4″
  • lemon lime twist- cut 1 at 2 3/4″ X 3″
  • bermuda bay- cut 1 at 3″ X 3 1/4″
  • whisper white- cut 1 at 2 1/2″ X 2 3/4″, cut 1 at 2 1/2″ X 3″
  • designer series paper- cut 1 at 1 7/8″ X 5 1/4″, scraps for balloons (I used the Bubbles & Fizz from Sale A Bration)
  • basic gray- scraps for sentiments

Directions:

  • stamp all images with the momento black ink, set aside to dry
  • adhere print to front fold, add lemon lime twist and then add the bermuda bay to the inside so that it frames the lemon lime twist
  • color in images with stampin’ blends and or markers
  • cut out balloons and trim sentiments
  • attach to the card as pictured

Treat Yourself

Adding fun colors and a little sparkle makes the basic gift card holder that much more exciting to give. I created this holder with one of our narrow note cards and envelopes featured in the Occasions catalog. The designers series paper along with the stamped images are from the Perfect Party Suite, I added the shimmer black ribbon and pool party bakers twine to finish it off.

IMG_7163

  • To create the holder you need to score the note card at 1 1/4″, fold to the front and add a strip of Perfect Party designer series paper cut at 1 1/8″ X 4 1/4″ and adhere.
  • Cut a coordinating piece at 2″ X 4 1/4″, adhere to the inside. I staple the card on both sides close to the edge to form the pocket.
  • Cut a piece of coordinating card stock 3 1/2″ X 2″, stamp “treat yourself” in basic black ink and adhere to the inside, position to the right side.
  • stamp “Happy Birthday” on a scrap of coordinating card stock, punch out with the classic label punch, punch a hole to tie the bakers twine through.
  • Wrap the shimmer black ribbon around and tie a knot, slip the bakers twine behind and tie a bow, slip your gift card in and you are set to go!
